Medical Leave of Absence

Georgetown University is invested in supporting the success of its students and the safety and welfare of the community. The decision to go on a medical leave of absence (MLOA) for mental health reasons should be weighed carefully. There are many reasons why students may want to go on an MLOA. In general, any mental health condition that significantly limits a student’s ability to function successfully or safely in their role as students is considered a strong reason for a student to take an MLOA.

Students may contact the Office of the Dean of Students (DOS) and Student Outreach and Support (SOS) to begin the medical leave of absence process.
