Just Breathe

The “Just Breathe” sensory room can be found on the 5th floor of the Leavey Center, to the left of Leavey conference room 500. The front desk staff is also available to help you find the space.

It is a small, calming space designed to support both undergraduate and graduate students seeking a quiet environment to decompress or take a restorative break from campus activity. The room
features low, soothing lighting that creates a peaceful atmosphere. To support grounding and
sensory regulation, the space includes weighted lap pads, and a selection of fidget tools is
available for students who benefit from tactile engagement. The environment is rounded out
with gentle visual elements, such as soft-moving lights or calming visual displays.  Altogether,
this sensory room serves as a welcoming, inclusive retreat within the Leavey Center, a place
where students can pause, breathe, and reset during the demands of academic life.

Students are encouraged to reserve time whenever they need a moment of quiet. Whether you’re decompressing after a long day, grounding before an exam, or simply taking a breath, this space is here for you.

  • The phrase “Just Breathe” is centered near the top in crisp white, using a clean serif typeface. The words are stacked, with “Just” above “Breathe,” both in title case.
  • Below the text is a white line-drawn lotus flower with five petals, the central three slightly larger.
  • Beneath the lotus are three gently curved white lines, evenly spaced, representing water.
